Eligibility Requirements

  • Female students in healthcare or Women’s studies
  • Orphan girls in Primary or secondary schools in Zambia and other developing countries
  • Good academic standing (minimum B)
  • Unmet financial need
  • Two letters of recommendation from current teachers or final year teachers
  • Proof of community service

Scholarship Information

  • The scholarships are awarded for one (1) year.
  • Applicants must file a new application for each successive year.

Completed application forms, together with all required enclosures, must reach us no later than May 31st of each year at midnight.

All applications received after the deadline will not be accepted.

The application for scholarship must be completed in its entirety and should include all required supporting documents.

    Scholarship recipients are expected to remain in good academic standing during their recipient year.

    List the secondary school from which you graduated, and all higher education institutions attended. Include summer, study-abroad, exchange programs and your nominating institution (up to six).

    List public service and community activities (homeless services, environmental protection/conservation, advocacy activities, work with religious organizations, etc.) (up to six).

    THE FOLLOWING ITEMS MUST BE ATTACHED ALONG WITH THIS FORM OR YOUR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

    • Two (2) Letters of reference, In two separate PDFs

    • Essay (Please keep under 500 words) - Describe your commitment to community service and any civic responsibility. How do you believe your contributions have impacted the people and/or the organization(s) in which you have served? How has your service experience informed your understanding of the socioeconomic environment and resulting needs of the community in which you served? Explain how you think this experience may be applicable to the community in which you will be serving.
